About this work

Two representations on one plate. Above: in the foreground Lucius, the Arian bishop of Alexandria, on a square. He steps on a ball and thus interrupts the ball game of some children. The children scream and gesture. Below: after Lucius, the Arian patriarch, has touched a ball, the children make a large fire to purify the ball.
