About this work

In an interior, a wealthy man sits at a table with his family and guests. Through the doorway on the right, the beggar Lazarus is visible, whose sores are being licked by a dog. To the left, from top to bottom, three smaller depictions of the death of Lazarus, his ascension to heaven, and his burial. To the right, three smaller depictions of the death of the rich man, the rich man in hell, and his burial. According to the biblical story in Luke 16: 19-25.
