About this work
In an interior a wealthy man sits with his family and guests at a table. Through the doorway on the right the beggar Lazarus can be seen, whose sores are being licked by a dog. From top to bottom on the left three smaller scenes with the death of Lazarus, his ascension to heaven, and his burial. On the right three smaller scenes with the death of the rich man, the rich man in hell, and his burial. According to the biblical story in Luke 16: 19-25.
