About this work
Tribute on the occasion of Willem Frederik, Prince of Orange-Nassau, having proclaimed himself King William I of the Netherlands on 16 March 1815. Angels crown his bust and decorate it with a garland of laurel leaves. The Dutch Maiden kneels before Peace. In the air medallions with the portraits of illustrious predecessors of the young king. Bottom right the Dutch lion tramples the French rooster, which holds an extinguished torch in its paw. In the background a sea view with ships. Under the print four lines of text in Dutch.
