About this work

Saint Anthony kneels before a crucifix in a cave and prays to Christ to deliver him from the devils and demons who tempt him to follow the evil path. Around Anthony gather all kinds of Boschian little devils, as well as two ladies representing vanity, lust and greed. Below the print a Dutch inscription: 'O Holy Anthony, through your struggle be our intercession and help in temptation'.
