About this work

On the left, the patriarch Reuben, the eldest son of Jacob, in a landscape with an ox and a kid next to him. In his left hand, a jug. On the right, the patriarch Simeon, the second son of Jacob, in armor in a landscape. Behind him lie the bodies of three Shechemites whom Simeon, together with Levi, had killed as revenge for the dishonor of their sister Dinah. Each image has a Latin inscription, and the sheet contains the first and second prints from a series with the subject of the twelve patriarchs of Israel.
