About this work

Balaam stands with Balak, king of Moab, on a mountain, and they look out over the encampment of the Israelites. Balak wants Balaam to curse the people, but Balaam blesses them instead. On the mountain, altars have been erected and Moabite warriors are standing. Below the image is a reference in Latin to the biblical text in Numbers 23–24.
