About this work

The bride (Sponsa) kneels before her bridegroom, Christ dressed as a king. He blesses her. The female personifications of various virtues, including Science (Scientia), Faith (Fides), Hope (Spes) and Love (Charitas), look on. In the margin a four-line inscription, in two columns, in Latin.
