About this work
In the middle sit on a stone the Church and Hope. The Church wears a mourning mantle. On the left above an angel throws lightning, he represents the wrath of God. The lightning strikes a Jesuit who thereby stumbling falls into the blood of the victims of the massacre of Thorn. On both sides of the plate text with explanation of the scene and the different symbols.
