About this work
The Ladder of Life of the woman. On every step stands a woman and on the step the corresponding age. To the left the young years from zero to fifty, to the right old age from fifty to one hundred. In the middle of the ladder a scene of the Last Judgment. To the left of it one sees a group of women in front of a church with the text: 'A sweet beginning gives good pleasure.' To the right of the Last Judgment a funeral is shown with the text: 'But the end shall bear the pain.' At the bottom in the margin six four-line verses in Dutch.
