About this work

Triumphal chariot decorated with garlands of fruit, drawn by two horses (Concordia and Utilitas). The chariot is driven by Amor. On a seat sits Peace, with olive branches in her right hand and on her head, laurel wreath in her left hand. To her right sits Wealth (Opulentia) holding up a crown. Next to the chariot walk Truth, Diligence, and Justice (Veritas, Diligentia, and Justitia). Print from a series of nine prints with triumphal chariots from the Antwerp Circumcision procession of 1561. The personifications on the chariots together depict the cycle of human action.
