About this work

A house on the Herengracht in Amsterdam where a fire raged on the night of April 25 to 26, 1683, but which was saved by timely extinguishing with hose fire pumps. To the left lies the bridge to the Hartenstraat. With a four-line caption in Dutch and French. Plate 14 in Jan van der Heyden's Fire Pump Book.
