About this work
An ornamental mirror depicting the five wise and the five foolish virgins. The five wise virgins hold their oil lamps up towards heaven where Christ has appeared, while the foolish virgins lie asleep. In the ornamental frame above the mirror, two cherubs hold up the Vera Icon. At the bottom, a cherub holds a crown of thorns and a rosary. The title print of a seventeen-part series of female saints.
