About this work

Mary sits kneeling and reads a book. She is visited by the Angel Gabriel. He tells her that she will bear a son who will be called Christ (Luke 1:26-38). Above them the dove as a symbol for the Holy Spirit. The representation is enclosed in an oval frame with a border inscription in Latin. Print from a series of twelve on the life, passion and resurrection of Christ.
