About this work

In a niche (tokonoma) sits Taira no Kiyomori (1118-1181) among books; in front of him sits his son Shigemori (1138-1179). The son was more loyal to the emperor than his own father. The Tale of Heiki tells of the struggle between the Taira and Minamoto families. With one poem.
