About this work

A room screen with a rack in front of it displaying a kimono with the image of a falcon and aubergines. The falcon and aubergines are elements from the first fortunate dream (hatsuyume) of the New Year. The third element, Mount Fuji, is formed by the smoke coming from a pipe smoked by someone behind the room screen. To ensure one had such a lucky dream, an image of the Treasure Ship was placed under the pillow on New Year's Eve. With two poems.
