About this work

Landscape with Mercury and his symbol the rooster. Roosters usually pull the chariot of Mercury. Mercury wears his winged helmet the petasus. In his hand he holds the caduceus. In the frame an inscription in Latin referring to the role Mercury played in the Judgment of Paris. Mercury brings the goddesses to Paris and acts as intermediary. Print from a series of six with Gods and Goddesses.
