About this work

Landscape with Mercury and his attribute the rooster. Roosters usually pull the wagon of Mercury. Mercury wears his winged helmet the petasus. In his hand he holds the caduceus. In the frame a Latin border inscription referring to the role Mercury played in the Judgment of Paris. Mercury brings the goddesses to Paris and acts as intermediary. This print is part of an album.
