About this work
The personification of Litigation (Lis), a man with a wolf's head, a hell-mouth as belly, and screws as legs, is accompanied by the personifications of Bad Opinion (Opinio Mala) and Legacy (Testamentum). They follow Blind Desire (Cupido Cacae) who is blinded by a money bag over his head. Behind Litigation walk the personifications of Mine and Thine. The print has three inscriptions (two in Latin and one in Dutch) and is part of an eight-part series on abuses in legal proceedings.
