About this work

Melchizedek, the high priest and king of Salem (Jerusalem), gives Abraham bread and a jug of wine. Abraham, clad in armor and with a helmet on his head, takes the bread, while his soldiers stand behind him. Behind Melchizedek stands his army. Below the scene, a Latin reference to the Biblical text in Gen. 14. This print is part of an album.
