About this work
Eliezer, the servant of Abraham, meets Rebekah at the well. She lets him drink from her jug. On the right, the camels and Eliezer's retinue. On the left, women come from the city to fetch water at the fountain. The fountain is crowned by a river god. Below the scene, a Latin reference to the Biblical text in Gen. 24.
