About this work

Melchizedek, the high priest and king of Salem (Jerusalem), gives bread and a jug of wine to Abraham. Abraham, clad in armor and with a helmet on his head, takes the bread, while his soldiers stand behind him. Behind Melchizedek stands his army. Below the image a reference in Latin to the biblical text in Gen. 14.
