About this work
A man on the back of a donkey, with next to the donkey, on foot, his son. On the left two bystanders, who make speaking gestures. Depiction of the Aesopic fable of the father, the son and the donkey. Second scene of the fable, in which it is told how the father and son exchange places; the boy next to the donkey and the father on the back of the animal. Again they are criticized by other travelers: that the father lets the boy walk while he himself sits on the back of the donkey. Third print from a series of six with depictions from the fable of Aesopus of the father, the son and the donkey.
