About this work
The high priest Jehoiada pours oil on Joash's head and proclaims him king. Onlookers blow trumpets and play harps. Between the soldiers on the right, Queen Athaliah watches while tearing her clothes. On the right in the background, Queen Athaliah is killed. At the bottom of the margin a verse in Latin and a reference to the Biblical text in 2 Kings 11:12. This print is part of an album.
