About this work

A scholar in a library points to a personification of History (Historia) making notes of all memorable events, assisted by Father Time and under the watchful eye of Minerva and Truth. The interior is framed by an architectural border decorated with medallions hanging from ribbons. The medallions depict subjects from suitable male literature, mentioned on scrolls.
