About this work
A cartouche decorated with acanthus leaves, bees, and the coat of arms of Amsterdam. Inside the cartouche is a beehive, and in the background Apollo and the Muses. Beside it, two cartouches with an old man and a young couple. At the bottom the motto: "The bees pour out here, the noblest thing they read to find the old staff, and the orphaned children."
