About this work
Mary in a kneeling position in a room. She sings her hymn, the Magnificat. Above her head, the tetragram in a radiant cloud. Around her, four music-making angels who (from left to right) play the viola da gamba, French horn, flute and viola da gamba. The piece of music being played can be seen on two tablets, held up by two standing angels. On the left, the superius and tenor, on the right, the altus and the bassus. Below the image, a reference in Latin to the biblical text in Luke 1:46. This print is part of an album.
