About this work

The Destruction of the Old Constitution, allegorical decoration erected on the Botermarkt in Amsterdam at the Alliance Festival on 19 June 1795. Decoration in the form of the ruin of a Gothic chapel, on the central chassinet Envy turns the wheel of the aristocracy which sets a millstone in motion.
