The Destruction of the Old Constitution, allegorical decoration erected on the Botermarkt in Amsterdam at the Alliance Festival on 19 June 1795. Decoration in the form of the ruin of a Gothic chapel; on the central chassinet, Envy turns the wheel of aristocracy that sets a millstone in motion. Part of a series of thirteen plates.
