About this work
Esther is crowned queen by King Ahasuerus on the left. In the foreground, Mordecai overhears Bigtana and Teres plotting a conspiracy. In the middle right, Mordecai is seen telling Queen Esther what he has heard. On the bridge, Esther is shown conveying the news on Mordecai's behalf to the king. Under the bridge, Bigtana and Teres are hanged. Below the image, a Latin reference to the biblical text in Esther 2.
