About this work

During a prolonged drought Elijah went to live at the brook Cherith, in which water still flowed. The ravens brought him bread and meat in the morning and in the evening. Elijah sits under a tree by the water and takes a piece of bread from a raven. Under the scene is a line of text in Latin.
