About this work

The prophet Elijah has been brought to the king by Obadiah, the steward of King Ahab; the king addresses Elijah with the words: 'Is it you, Elijah? You who have brought trouble upon Israel?'. Elijah explains that the king himself has brought trouble upon his people by worshipping false gods. In the background on the right, Obadiah is seen bowing before Elijah as soon as he recognized him. Below the image, a reference in Latin to the biblical text in 1 Kings 18. The print is part of an album.
