About this work
The sixth angel blows the trumpet. Beside the angel sits God the Father on his throne, and the golden altar with four horns stands, from which a voice issues commanding that the four angels who are imprisoned must be released. The angels and the riders on horses with lion heads destroy a third of mankind. In the margin a four-line inscription in Latin. Eleventh print from a series of twenty-four depicting the Revelation of John on Patmos.
