About this work

According to the caption, the beautiful Suzon is reading in the Jardin du Luxembourg. She wears a 'chapeau à L'Anglaise' on a cap or 'bonnet négligé' and a large shoulder cape in the latest fashion. Further accessories: fan, shoe with rosette. From series ddd. 48e Cahier de Costumes Français, 42e Suite d'Habillemens à la mode en 1785, Gallerie des Modes et Costumes Français.
