About this work

Robe à la Turque. According to the accompanying text, the 'robe à la Turque' is of white gaze with white shiny and soft lilac stripes, trimmed with soft pink ribbon. Scarf of white checkered gaze with a fringe of white silk, crossed at the front and tied at the back under the belt. Hairstyle with a striped ribbon. Accessories: earring, long gloves, chatelaine, lilac heeled shoes and a strip of pink ribbon. The print is part of the 17th Cahier from Cabinet des Modes ou les Modes Nouvelles. The series consists of 72 fashion prints, published by Buisson, Paris, 15 November 1785 - 1 November 1786.
