About this work
Unmarried young woman, walking to the left, dressed in a 'fourreau' of white linen with scalloped hem. Around the neck a fichu. On the head a tulle cap: 'bonnet à la Béarnaise', with woven colored flowers. Further accessories: earring, corsage of flowers, long gloves, fan. The print is part of the 15th Cahier, 2nd year, from the series Magasin des Modes Nouvelles Françaises et Anglaises. The series consists of 172 fashion prints, published by Buisson, Paris, 20 November 1786 – 21 December 1789.
