About this work

Album with 26 prints and a handwritten register. Some prints are pasted onto album pages while others are attached with strips of paper. The album contains prints with depictions of or related to riders, stadiums and sporting events, mainly chariot races. The prints are partly from a publication by Onofrio Panvinio on sporting events, triumphs and hippodromes. This is a fictitious album, i.e., an album compiled by a collector or owner of the prints. A parchment binding with flyleaves at the front and back. On the front pastedown a label written by Simon Schijnvoet.
