About this work
Under the command of Captain Abraham Scheerenberg, Orangist rioters led by Daniël Raap are driven out of the town hall and the Dam, 9 November 1747. In the occupied town hall, a demonstrant throws a rage-bolt out of the window, a mocking reference to the rod carried by the sheriff. In the center, the New Church, and to the right, part of the Waag.
