About this work

Under the command of Captain Abraham Scheerenberg, Orangist rioters led by Daniël Raap are driven out of the town hall and the Dam on 9 November 1747. In the occupied town hall, a demonstrator throws a rage-bolt out of the window, a mocking reference to the rod carried by the sheriff. In the center the Nieuwe Kerk and to the right part of the Waag.
