About this work

Under the command of Captain Abraham Scheerenberg, Orange-sympathizing rioters are driven out of the town hall and from the Dam. In the occupied town hall, a demonstrator throws a rage-bolt out of the window, a mocking reference to the rod carried by the sheriff. In the centre, the New Church; on the right, part of the weigh house.
