The diligent apprentice Goodchild wins the trust and friendship of his master. In the background the looms in the factory. Below the image a cartouche with a text from Matthew. Part of a series of twelve plates on the rise and fall of two apprentices, Francis Goodchild and Thomas Idle, after the original plates by William Hogarth from 1747.
