About this work
St. Bruno, founder of the Carthusian order. He wears the abbot's robe of the Carthusians. In his hands a book and a crucifix. Around his head is a halo. At his feet lie the bishop's mitre and the bishop's staff, symbol for the refusal of St. Bruno to perform the office of bishop. The print has a cartouche.
