About this work
Bacchus and Venus embrace each other. Together with Cupido they stand before the Worldly Pleasures (Delitae carnis). They make their entrance into church life. In the background, a monk sits with a woman at a set table (right) and several monks enjoy the deer hunt. The print has a Dutch, Latin and French inscription and is part of a twelve-part series with the subject of the degeneration of the Catholic clergy and the causes of the uprising and the Iconoclasm.
