About this work

In the middle stands a pedestal with city coats of arms related to the city of Nuremberg. On the top of this stands an eagle as the sign of the Holy Roman Empire. Bottom left lies a mythological river god as personification of the Pegnitz. On the right three children are occupied with objects related to the arts, trade and science.
