Sheet with four oval scenes, each with inscription and date in Latin: top left a guardian angel warning a small boy of a number of devilish creatures, top right Saint Simplicius in papal attire, bottom left Saint Kunigunde with a crown on her head, bottom right Saint Lucius I kneeling before an executioner who raises the sword to behead him. This print is part of a series of prints depicting the saints and the Christian feast days of the year. Four scenes from one plate are always printed on one sheet. Including the corresponding title page and frontispiece, there are in total 124 plates (490 scenes). The three plates with the last 12 scenes (the moveable Christian feast days) were cut in the third state into 12 small prints, and issued with a separate title page.
