Sheet with four oval scenes, each with inscription and date in Latin: top left Saint Castor at work as a sculptor, top right Saint Carpophorus and the Four Crowned bound lying on the ground, surrounded by dogs, bottom left Christ on the cross, bottom right Saint Theodore Tiro of Euchaita visited by Christ in prison. This print is part of a series of prints depicting the saints and the Christian feast days of the year. Four scenes from one plate are printed on each sheet. Including the corresponding title page and frontispiece, the series comprises 124 plates (490 scenes). The three plates with the last 12 scenes (the moveable Christian feast days) were cut down in the third state to 12 small prints, and issued with a separate title page.
