Sheet with four oval scenes, each with inscription and date in Latin: top left Saint Irenaeus of Rome who is beheaded, like his companions, top right Saint Christiana of Georgia in conversation with a group of men, bottom left Saints Ananias, Azarias and Misael of Babylon in an oven, bottom right Saint Florianus and companions who are attacked by soldiers with sticks. This print is part of a series of prints depicting the saints and the Christian feast days of the year. Four scenes from one plate are printed on each sheet. Including the corresponding title page and frontispiece, the series comprises 124 plates (490 scenes). The three plates with the last 12 scenes (the moveable Christian feast days) were cut down in the third state to 12 small prints, and issued with a separate title page.
