Saint Aurea of Ostia, Saint Bartholomew, Saint Louis IX of France, Saint Genesius the Actor (24-25 August)

Sheet with four oval scenes, each with inscription and date in Latin: top left Saint Aurea of Ostia having a millstone attached to her foot, top right Saint Bartholomew being flayed, bottom left Saint Louis IX of France with a banner and three nails, bottom right Saint Genesius the Actor being baptized. This print is part of a series of prints depicting the saints and the Christian feast days of the year. Four scenes from one plate are printed on each sheet. Including the corresponding title page and frontispiece, the series comprises 124 plates (490 depictions). The three plates with the last 12 scenes (the moveable Christian feast days) were cut down in the third state to 12 small prints and issued with a separate title page.
