Sheet with four oval scenes, each with inscription and date in Latin: top left Saint Romaricus of Remiremont dressed as a monk, top right Saint Leocadia of Toledo praying before a cross in a prison cell, bottom left Saints Menas and Hermogenes of Alexandria dressed as soldiers with palm branches in their hands, bottom right Saint Damasus I as pope with a roll of paper in his hand facing another man. This print is part of a series of prints depicting the saints and the Christian feast days of the year. Four scenes from one plate are printed on each sheet. Including the corresponding title page and frontispiece, the series comprises 124 plates (490 scenes). The three plates with the last 12 scenes (the moveable Christian feast days) were cut down in the third state to 12 small prints, and issued with a separate title page.
