About this work
French court lady dressed according to the fashion ca. 1630, seen from the side, standing before a landscape. She is dressed in a kite costume with balloon-shaped open sleeves with round, wide protruding cuffs. She has a high waistline with a bow at the front and an uncovered décolleté. Around her neck she wears a wide protruding collar (shoulder to shoulder). She wears a short hairstyle with ornamentation and holds a folded fan in her hand. With an inscription below.
